Epoxy Coating

September 21st, 2010 No comments

Clear epoxy is applied to the surface to protect the enamel from color fading and cracking. (Epoxy coating is optional and provided according to customer’s requirements)

  • The standard colors are based on the Pantone Chart.
  • Bolder designs are recommended in order to prevent any unsatisfactory coloring caused by lines and figures that are too thin or too small.
  • General enamel coloring requires a surrounding metal space to ensure good quality painting results. Therefore it is usually necessary to allow for a blank metal rim (0.3mm minimum).

For budget considerations, iron material can be used instead of copper, but without polishing.

Winning Olympic medal is dream of athletes, and also we are familiar with, maybe you interested in process of Olympic medal, and now we have to do a detailed introduction together.

In accordance with the International Olympic Committee charter, the weight of gold medals 244.5 grams, 269 grams silver, bronze 224 grams. The proportion of medals Material: bronze and copper were used to build bronze medal; silver was used to build silver medal; gold is 92.5% pure silver, the rest of the materials for the gold plating on the surface, the weight of about 13.5 grams. Therefore, it is gold plating in the surface, which is silver inside!

Each Olympic gold medal produced by the host city. Silver and bronze medals were silver and copper through the use of stamping, and then the hands of semi-finished products sent to the craftsmen, manual operation until the finished silver or bronze medal. Gold production are some exceptions, the International Olympic Committee in accordance with the standards required in the “silver” based on the gold, the semi-finished products sent to the laboratory in Switzerland have certified gold. Through the electrolysis process, every gold medal must be plated with 6 grams of gold, the thickness of 75 microns, then had to use special enamel. Length of each produced medal 60 mm in diameter. Due to the manufacturing process is time-consuming, so only 150pcs every day.

200 IOC Executive Board passed a resolution in June in Prague, modification has been used for more than 20 years of Summer Olympics medals design, which is since 1976, the first time the International Olympic Committee agreed to change the pattern Olympic medals. Athens Olympic Games medals will be engraved on the front of the famous sculptor Paaoniusi victory goddess statue (currently stored in the hold of the statue on the first modern Olympic Games, the Pan-Athenian Stadium); Castle is the background as a goddess. Medals will be engraved on the back of the Olympic Torch, Greek lyric poet Pindar section of the Olympic song, the Athens Olympic Games emblem and the name of sports.
Another example is the Beijing Olympic Games medals in the use of creative material for a breakthrough, the one embedded in the traditional Chinese jade, gold and silver with white bronze, respectively, green jade, and sapphire. This design not only conforms to the relevant provisions of the International Olympic Committee, has also demonstrated the “Jade” noble quality, Yu said that China’s traditional culture, “The Dream” reflects the Olympic spirit of Chinese people praise and supreme athletes praise.
